Garlic had been used as a natural form of medicine for centuries, dating back as far as the biblical times. What makes garlic an effective antibiotic is its Sulphur compound, antibacterial, antioxidant and its antihypertensive components. There is a long list of benefits that come with including garlic into your daily diet. Garlic has been known to reduce blood pressure, reduce blood clotting and help improve the body’s immune system but is a powerful antibiotic. It has a number of antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral agents.

Garlic is one of the most affordable herbal antibiotics you can find and has been shown to fight off a variety of infections. Colds, flu, tooth infections and even some symptoms of the AIDS virus have been shown to reduce with the consumption of garlic. It is most commonly used to help fight off respiratory digestive and urinary tract infections. The phytochemical allicin found in garlic is what makes it such a powerful antibiotic and is highly effective against the MRSA superbug.

Garlic comes in many forms from capsules to oils. While eating raw garlic is the most potent way to reap the benefits of its antibacterial effects doing so can cause some to have bad breath or body odor. Consuming about two to four cloves of garlic a day can help kill off the unwanted bacteria lurking in the body. Simply add it to your salad, blend it in your morning shake or add it raw to some soup. You can also make a garlic tea by boiling the cloves in water for ten minutes.
